2nd National Environmental Sanitation Conference
(NESCON 2011)
6th to 9th December 2011
Venue: Golden Tulip Kumasi City, Kumasi, Ashanti Region
CALL FOR PAPERS
THEME:
“Enhancing Public-Private-Partnerships for Effective Environmental Sanitation Services – The Roles of Stakeholders”
Objective
The aim of NESCON 2011 is to focus on how Ghana can accelerate the coverage of all environmental sanitation services – upscaling country-wide sanitation behavior change communication using Community-led Total Sanitation, hygienic management of excreta and sustainable access to improved sanitation, improving operation and maintenance management of services and treatment facilities, and developing a sustainable programme for promoting household sanitation through micro-finance institutions, Rural Banks, Credit Unions and the ARP Apex Bank as well as showcasing the advances made in the application of the latest technologies for attaining wastes reduction, re-use, recycling and recovery (4Rs). Your paper should therefore focus on this objective and should follow the prescribed format in these guidelines.
Introduction
Unlike the maiden NESCON held in 2010 where institutions were specifically invited to present papers on prescribed subjects, the NESCON 2011 requires prospective individuals, groups and institutions to submit papers that relate adequately to the main theme or any of the sub-thematic areas prescribed below for the opportunity to present to participants during the conference. This is to provide enough room for the sharing of as much available knowledge as possible on how to prepare, as a country, to face the challenges of Environmental Sanitation services delivery. Papers selected and duly presented will also be published in the post conference journal for a wider readership.
