About The Job:
CWSA/IRC-Ghana are looking for a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Research Officer for the Sustainable Services at Scale (Triple-S) Project in Ghana. Triple-S Ghana work is part of IRC Ghana Country programme and is hosted and led by CWSA.
Triple-S is a multi-country action research and learning initiative that seeks to identify, pilot and test new ways of improving the delivery of sustainable rural water services by successfully identifying, understanding and solving the key challenges and bottlenecks that are currently leading to high rates of breakdown and low service delivery. The Initiative is doing this through a rigorous process of learning supported by action research which involves the full range of stakeholders in the rural water sector.
The Senior Research Officer is one of the team members of the multi-disciplinary Ghana country team. He/she reports hierarchically and functionally to the Triple-S Ghana Country Team Leader.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
The candidate will ideally possess a PhD degree in a relevant subject. Failing this, they will as a minimum possess an MPhil and demonstrable research experience in addition to thesis work.but are not limited to: Sociology, Engineering, water resources management, environment, geography
The ideal candidate will show 3 or more years experience of action research, learning, knowledge management and documentation that has led to behavioural and/or policy change in multi-stakeholder processes, preferably with government and non-governmental organisations in the water and sanitation sector, both at national and decentralised levels.
